High in the misty Uva Mountains of Sri Lanka, above the breathtaking Ravana-Ella waterfalls, lies AMBA Estate, a community-run social enterprise devoted to creating world-class, hand-crafted teas and artisanal produce. Our organic farm thrives at 1000 meters above sea level, where rich soil, pure mountain air, and a deep respect for nature come together to produce truly exceptional flavours.

At AMBA, our mission is simple yet powerful: to maximize local income while preserving the natural environment. Guided by our motto - “If it grows, turn it into a product!”- we empower local farmers to transform what they grow into high-value, sustainable goods rather than selling raw produce to large processors. AMBA is renowned for producing small batches of tea, hand-rolled or carefully rolled using mini-machines, blending traditional techniques from China and Japan with local expertise. Each leaf is plucked and processed with care, capturing the delicate essence of our highland terroir. Our award-winning teas have been served in some of the world’s most celebrated tea shops and restaurants, bringing the spirit of Sri Lanka’s hillsides to tea lovers everywhere.

Beyond tea, AMBA also produces a range of artisanal spices, herbs, and preserves—from cinnamon, lemongrass, and pepper to hand-roasted coffee, cascara, jams, and chutneys. Every product is made on the estate, with care, integrity, and respect for both people and planet.
