Hello I am Bernadine Tay, the founder of quintessential and one of the founding directors of the European Speciality Tea Association. My passion for culture, cuisine and care for others let me to a life of tea. Originally from Singapore, a melting pot of different cultures, I grew up with the understanding that tea is a health-giving elixir that facilitates connections with oneself and others. My background as a biomedical scientist has given me a solid grounding to tap into the versatility of the humble tea leaf and nature's botanicals. With all the intentions of bringing enjoyable wellness solutions to everyone, I set up the company in 2010. Quintessential goes beyond simply selling tea as a commodity, rather, we amplify the natural goodness of tea by designing blends with scientific authority. We carefully compose our teas + botanicals starting with the exemplary curation of ingredients that work together to achieve a sensory result. Calming or invigorating, thirst quenching or complementing food, we aim to capture your heart from the very first sip.

By putting science at the heart of our developmental process, we are part of the remedy to real life problems such as improving focus, gut health, reducing anxiety and better sleep. By living the quintessential life, inner beauty is brought to the surface, in a natural way. Our collection of infusions and single origin teas can be served hot or cold, on their own or as a flavour-maker. They are effortless to prepare and offer a tasty, luxurious experience that’s good for mind, body and spirit.

I take inspiration from the beauty in everyday experiences and strongly believe in quality, natural ingredients, nutritional value and have an absolute love for flavour. Quintessential gives equal consideration to economic, sustainable and mindful objectives.
