R&D News and Trends is led by Nipun Wisnagalage from Sri Lanka

Nipun was born with Tea and grew few years among lush Green Tea fields of Geragama estate, Kandy, Sri Lanka. His Grandma was serving as a midwife of the same estate who helped poor plantation workers with a great deal of kindness. In the year 2012, he achieved a Tea Technology and Value Addition Degree with honours. As a part of the academic program, he had the privilege to have a plantation creeper training at one of the main plantation companies in Sri Lanka. He was also trained at one of the Tea brokering firms. Following his graduation he joined with one of the leading tea export firms called “Heritage Teas”. After working there for two years, he had the privilege of working for the company’s joint venture in China for three years. After coming back to the motherland in 2017, he played a major role for the company by handling few key overseas accounts until late 2021. Currently, he is working for Damro Tea as one of the Regional Export Managers.

Regarding his Sub-Committee, Nipun and the team intend to present the latest R&D news and trends relevant to all the aspects of specialty tea. They will make sure to collect whatever useful information they can only from original sources or from other reliable sources.
