Would you have ever imagined a white specialty tea coming from Malawi in Africa? Or did you ever try a Malawi Oolong? We ourselves at Satemwa Tea Estates did not expect this innovative specialty journey to be this exciting and adventurous either.

Alexander Kay, third generation tea farmer, is the driving force behind loads of experiments with different cultivars, out of the box processing techniques, p’uer fermentation trials and smoked tea at Satemwa Tea Estates, the last family owned tea estate in Malawi.

By drinking our teas you will discover the unique Satemwa terroir and you will taste a long history of tea craftmanship in Malawi. We think it is important to tell the stories behind the teas and to take you on this tea journey with us. We would like you to get to know the communities making the tea and appreciate the environment around the tea we care so much about.

To make the Satemwa teas, herbals and green coffee easily accessible, we opened up a small direct trade office in Europe. We can offer you the right grade for your specific tea project, or the most exclusive blend, or we can help you to set up your own retail tea brand.

Feel free to reach out, we would love to hear from you. Also, you are very welcome to come and stay with us on Satemwa Estate in Malawi. We organize Malawi Tea Education tours regularly. Participants get to know the different aspects of the Malawi tea industry, learn how to make their own tea and will do loads of tastings, of course.
